General Job Description The FP&A Analyst will work closely with and be the finance business partner for the Canadian Leadership Teams and Operation Team to provide actionable business insight that will boost financial performance. The FP&A team is responsible for managing annual budgets, monthly / quarterly forecast, weekly pulses and providing analytical support for senior management. This role requires a self-starter with strong consolidations and financial modelling background, problem solving skills, sharp analytical skills, and the ability to work in a fast paced environment. Key Responsibilities/Areas Of Accountability Financial Planning and Forecasting Work closely with the Plant Controllership and Operations Finance team and Corporate department to consolidate and explain the variances of the weekly pulse. Track the Daily Sales volume, order intake /aging analysis and metric to measure the deviation of the monthly sales from targets Monitor performance and perform variance analysis including MD&A of variances to Budget, Forecasts, and Prior Year. Lead the budgeting/forecasting of all expenses for all Corporate Canada’s shared service teams and departments including assisting with developing and implementing standard operating tools, processes and procedures relating to these. Work closely with the Plant Controllership Team and Operations in consolidation of Financial Statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, etc…) for Actuals, Budgets, Forecasts, Pulses, etc…. for Canada in both CAD$ and USD$. Ensure they are accurate, timely, and in compliance with Internal Controls and SOX. Management Reporting and Analytics Standardize and improve the current reporting and calculation methodologies on drivers of EBITDA variances, price-volume-mix, inflation/deflation, price realization and FX. Explain monthly variance of results from Budget/Forecast and from previous year. Leverage different data sources to create a data-driven analysis of all variances Develop and implement standard monthly reporting cadence in collaboration with the finance and operations teams. Create adhoc analytical tools to quickly understand the results and communicate finding to the stake holders to take corrective actions Identifying and explaining underlying business trends and the financial implications of strategic decisions Accounting and Financial Operations Prepare various sales reports and analytics to support the profitable growth of the organization and identify opportunities for improvement. Build and maintain strong relationships and effective communication with key stakeholders and functional partners across business in support of planning and forecasting efforts. Others Adhoc requests or duties assigned by the FP&A Manager Technical/Professional Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong understanding of Budgeting and Forecasting process and techniques Ability to analyze and interpret both financial and operational results. Strong Communication Skills - Ability to summarize and present conclusions, and provide clear and concise training and coaching to fellow colleagues. Ability to work effectively in a multi system environment. Advanced Excel Skills required (data downloading, effective and efficient manipulation and analysis) Superior problem solving abilities – thinking outside of the box for appropriate solutions Initiative/Dynamic - Needs to drive improvements and work with colleagues on multitude of issues and processes Detailed and deadline oriented individual. Qualifications Education University Degree – Commerce or Business Admin. Accreditations – Finance Designation such as CPA (CA, CMA, CGA) required. Fluent in English and knowledge of French would be considered an asset. Related Experience 5-7 years financial planning and analysis experience in a manufacturing environment required. Knowledge and experience with US GAAP and SOX (Bill 198) environment Reporting and analytical experience with multiple currencies such as USD$ and CAD$ is required. Experience with HFM, EPICOR, and SAP will be considered a strong asset.
