Vice President & Chief Data Officer, Global Banking & Markets (2524761633)
The Vice President Chief Data Officer, Global Banking and Markets (GBM) will report to the Senior Vice President, Chief Data Officer. You will drive the data governance strategy and implementation across the Global Banking and Markets business. You will lead the Data Governance team and work closely with internal partners, including define, implement and monitor compliance and ensuring alignment with Scotiabank’s enterprise data policy.
Lead/define the medium to long-term GBM data strategies and roadmaps, including the alignment of the GBM Business strategy, Enterprise data strategy and Enterprise data policy.
Lead/define the implementation of the data management operational frameworks across GBM to meet the enterprise, business, regulatory priorities and policies.
Lead/define/implement the organizational structures and operating models needed to support the objectives of the data programs.
Lead/establish a data quality framework necessary to enable data quality reporting, issue identification, remediation, tracking, including ensure trust and confidence in the data across domains.
Lead regulatory initiatives and efforts relating to data management, including meet with the regulators to describe the data management capabilities being implemented with the associated roadmaps.
Lead/stimulate analytical thought leadership through moving bank forward to be more effectual to use analytics.
Establish leading data management practices and capabilities relating to data quality, data provisioning, metadata, lineage, reference data, issue management and change management across GBM.
Design and implement the framework (including associated processes) necessary to sustain a data control environment.
Liaise with stakeholders to understand business priorities/requirements and align the data management program to these priorities
Foster and maintain collaborative relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including senior leaders to enable a culture that promotes critical thinking and change leadership.
Builds a high-performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment; communicating vison/values/business strategy and managing succession and development planning for the team.
Education / Experience
You have 10 or more years of demonstrated experience with data governance, data architecture, data management, machine learning and data warehousing or data lakes.
You have demonstrated work experience with Global Banking, Capital Markets or the Wealth Management business functions.
You are a strategic/resilient leader with sound judgment in identifying data analytics efficiencies/insights and translating it into the delivery of data.
You have demonstrated experience with integrating technology and analytics teams and enabling production.
You have demonstrated experience with driving analytics strategies and setting up technology and data infrastructure.
You have demonstrated leadership capabilities, leading diverse teams of professionals in a technical environment with proven ability to coach and develop staff.
You have proven influencing skills, with the ability to problem solve and manage changing priorities.
You have demonstrated experience influencing key relationships without formal authority that include internal/external stakeholders while building credible relationships with peers and colleagues at all levels.
Post secondary degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics or a related field
