Senior Manager, Investment Strategy (2524761851)
Senior Manager, Investment Strategy will be responsible for providing support to IA&S, with a focus on investment strategy, asset allocation, and macroeconomic analysis. Our team-based approach may require the candidate to write and review IA&S commentaries, conduct independent research, assist with proposals and presentations, and provide support the Portfolio Advisory Group. Accordingly, required skills include a strong knowledge of capital markets, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work well both independently and as part of a team. Applicants with demonstrated organizational and time management skills in a fast-paced, high energy environment are preferred.
Champion a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
Work closely with the Investment Strategy team to provide timely and conclusive tactical asset allocation recommendations based on quantitate and qualitative macroeconomic research, which will be used to supporting new or existing investment strategies/ideas.
Support the management of equity and/or fixed income Guided Portfolios by monitoring existing positions and ensuring they adhere to Portfolio Advisory Group’s selection criteria
Design, build and maintain models used in the equity and/or fixed income security selection process(es) and assist in fulfilling portfolio performance reporting requirements.
Provide regular support to Scotia Wealth Management investment advisors by conducting client portfolio reviews for existing individual client account, and in the creation of portfolio proposals to attract new business.
Respond to ad hoc advisor requests with qualified and value-added ideas and opinions. Educate advisors about the product/service offering, through branch visits, conference calls, and client presentations.
Coordinate with internal partners in Scotia Wealth Management to ensure consistency of messaging and to leverage appropriate expertise.

Education and experience:
5 – 10 years of relevant investment management or research experience.
University degree in related field and the completion of the CFA program.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, combined with effective relationship-building abilities.
Ability to work independently, manage a high level of volume, and meet tight deadlines.
Ability to work effectively within a cross-functional team environment that can include varying skills/competencies.
Strong project management skills and willingness to take initiative.
Strong conceptual abilities and excellent perseverance to solve problems and adapt solutions across a wide range of advisors and client segments.
Must have strong judgement and decision-making skills, with attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft suite (excel), Python or other programming languages are desired.
