Watch the and see what our employees have to say. About The Maintenance Technician Job Work closely with the Building Services Manager to ensure a clean and safe environment for our residents. Refurbish suites - including minor drywall, painting, plumbing and electrical repairs, carpet shampooing; Responding to resident requests and troubleshooting building problems are all part of the day-to-day. Supporting the different departments by assisting with garbage removal, industrial cleaning and event set ups. Everyday will be different and bring a new challenge About You You’re creative when you fix things, you can make a whole lot of something out of nothing but always prioritize safety. You will bring experience using hand tools, performing basic electric, plumbing, carpentry and painting tasks. Any knowledge of mechanical systems and formal trade training or a Building Service Worker Certificate is a plus. Having experience using Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Building Maintenance Software is important too. You’ll enjoy the self directedness of this role and rise to the challenge of managing multiple urgent tasks, responding to emergencies and meeting deadlines. You’re also not afraid to ask when you do not know the answer. Your excellent English communication skills will come in handy when asking questions or reporting incidents to management. You understand and respect the needs of seniors, their families and the professionals engaged in their care.
