Vice President Institutional Equity Sales (2236817662)
Job Responsibilities: Reporting to the Head of Institutional Sales, the candidate would be responsible for: Business Development – prospecting for new buy-side relationships across Canada and internationally; Idea Generation – utilizing capital markets knowledge, as well as material generated from sales/trading and research, the candidate would prepare written descriptions of trade ideas and relay key points to internal partners and external prospects/clients; Client Communication – preparation of written investment commentary, and ongoing communication of key themes/ideas to buy-side clients (portfolio managers and analysts); Marketing – travelling with senior management of our corporate companies to visit buy-side clients in key markets (Toronto, Montreal, New York, and other international locations); Sales Strategy – as part of the sales team, the candidate would be a contributor to the strategic growth plan for the platform, with regular input on improvements and enhancements to our offering and execution. Job Requirements: A successful candidate will possess the following qualifications/traits: Must Have 3-5 years experience in institutional sales, ideally in a Canadian capital markets setting; A strong understanding of financial markets, particularly public market equities (valuation, business models, sector fundamentals); An undergraduate degree in business, commerce, or a similar discipline. Additional academic/professional designations (MBA, CFA) would be of value; An outgoing personality, with the ability to prospect for new clients and establish new revenue-generating relationships with portfolio managers and buy-side analysts; Strong writing skills, especially the ability to generate written material quickly and concisely.
