Located in Lethbridge, AB, you will be accountable to Manager of Certified Seed Production; this position is responsible to participate in planning, coordination and generation of technical information conducive to improve the performance
**_Canola Seed Production activities and the quality of the BASF InVigor Canola Seed products._**
**_Formula for Success: You Will…_**
As part of the Research Team the successful candidate will be required to:
+ In consultation with the Seed Production Manager and the Research Team manage all activities related to seed production research planning, and implementation.
+ Execute a program able to identify best Canola Seed production practices and agronomy management.
+ Assist with the coordination and training activities of the group of Research Associates.
+ Manage Field and Plot Data collection and reporting.
+ Perform continued data mining on all available Canola seed production research.
+ Interact with the Seed Production team and other stakeholders for the generation and sharing of technical data.
+ Ensure consistency and comparability of research results and field production.
+ Foster best practices in seed production research methodology and communications.
+ Prepare research results and data analysis to be presented to the Seed Production team, other BASF groups and stakeholders.
+ Occasionally Travel locally and internationally to design and adapt research activities on all seed production areas
+ Attend research meetings and create cooperative trails with relevance to seed production.
+ Support the Agronomy Manager (s) and the Seed Supply group designing and planning successful integration of practices and concepts obtained from research projects.
**_Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…_**
+ Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy or Agriculture with Minimum 7-10 years’ experience working with seed production. (MSc. Or PhD. In Plant or Seed Physiology, Plant Sciences, Breeding or a related discipline is desirable).
+ Experience managing projects using SixSigma methodology is desirable.
+ Proficiency using bio-statistics and statistical software packages.
+ Protocol and research design statistical analysis training.
+ Familiarity with field and research equipment.
+ Project management and activity planning experience.
+ Research design for quantitative and qualitative data collection.
+ Above average communication and presentation skills.
+ Able to work independently or as team member.
+ Attention to detail with data collection and big-data management.
+ PAg designation or in progress.
