We are on the hunt for a detail-oriented Accounting technician, with a solid background in bookkeeping for a local Public Accounting firm. This role is chiefly tasked with supporting the Accountants in their workload, while performing bookkeeping duties for various clients businesses. This is a dynamic and challenging role that is well suited for someone who can maintain a keen eye for detail while managing a broad and diverse workload. As the next Accounting Assistant, you will have key responsibilities that will require you to call upon your extensive bookkeeping experience maintain a high-standard of accuracy and quality, while collaborating with the other team members to attend to your clients needs. The Role: - Located in Kamloops - Full-Time, year round position - Monthly Bookkeeping for several clients: o Payroll and payroll remittances o WCB o Year-end work for clients: o Prepare and file ROEs o Prepare T-slips, T1 Returns (including filing) o Prepare Year end - including efiling of all T2 returns o Preparing client packages - corporate & personal tax packages - Supporting the Accountants in their workload o Processing Records o Communicating with Clients - General Reception Duties for a quiet office setting Your Skills & Experience: - ***MUST HAVE*** 3-5 years of solid bookkeeping experience - ***MUST HAVE*** The ability to manage workloads at the same time, while maintaining a high-degree of accuracy - ***MUST HAVE*** An accounting-based education such as Accounting Technician, Business Administration Diploma or relevant industry experience - Continually looks for ways to improve their department and processes - Cognizant of the importance of confidentiality when dealing with clients sensitive information - Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to prioritize in an environment with shifting priorities and conflicting deadlines. - Experience working in a similar public accounting office considered an asset - Personable, and able to work with the public If you have read to this point you MUST be up for the challenge and looking for an opportunity to grow and push yourself.
