Wood is currently seeking a talented Senior Manager to manage and lead operations of the Vibration, Dynamics & Noise (VDN) business in our Calgary, AB office. The Senior Manager, VDN Canada will be accountable for financial management, operations, and growth of the global business service. The ideal candidate will have solid experienced in a customer facing role, and in the successful management of teams. She/He will also have familiarity and knowledge of the rotating machinery industry.

Responsibilities:







The Senior Manager is jointly responsible and accountable for the operation of the VDN business for Wood in Americas. Responsibility and accountability is shared with Senior Manager – USA. Key areas of responsibility are:





+ Effective management of all working divisions/departments of the VDN group in Canada with full responsibility for quality, delivery and profitability



+ Build and expand the company’s business activities, principally in Canada and the US, but also in other agreed areas



+ Provide effective and inspirational leadership to the regional business, ensuring that it maintains the appropriate structure with effective, motivated and high quality staff



+ Work closely with the VP of VDN, reviewing business development opportunities to ensure that not only the short-term P&L goals are being achieved, but also that the long-term strategy for the VDN service is being supported



+ Establish effective relationships with key customers, suppliers and industry bodies to ensure that company interests are represented appropriately



+ Lead the development of specific strategies to support business growth and support the development of company’s Production / Technical strategies



+ Lead the development and review of all proposals and tenders, ensuring the submission reflects the correct company business process and capabilities, and meets the appropriate commercial milestones required



+ Ensure maximum profitability on all work through correct fee rates and use of cost effective production techniques and working methodologies



+ Provide comprehensive and timely monthly Operations Reports and Financial Reports to the VDN VP



+ Ensure appropriate communication between all divisions and departments and to VDN peers and VDN VP



+ Ensure all divisions / departments operate within the agreed company business management, HR and HSE policies and standards



+ Provide a safe and healthy working environment, promoting safe working practices and achieving continuous improvement in health and safety performance.



+ Take responsibility for all aspects of the P&L, balance sheet and cash flow on a day-to-day basis









+ Bachelor’s degree required; (Engineering or Science preferred); graduate or post-graduate degree is an asset



+ At least 15 years relevant, progressive experience in consulting, ideally in the Oil & Gas or Rotating equipment industry



+ Minimum of 5 years in a managerial role, coupled with at least 5 years of P&L ownership



+ Demonstrated ability to guide, motivate, empower and challenge effectively to achieve superior results



+ Demonstrated client facing experience, in form of Sales, or Account Management



+ Excellent communication (written and spoken) in English and interpersonal skills are required



+ Ability to travel to client sites and other office locations (10-15%)
