Provides oversight over our Executive Talent population (VP+), by partnering with HR Business Partners to provide insights, analysis and development recommendations for high potential talent. This role manages VP searches by reviewing internal and external candidates, partnering closely with the Talent Acquisition team. The Senior Manager provides direction over the VP+ onboarding process and manages the approval process for SVP candidates.
+ Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
+ Provides overall consultation and direction on Dynamic Talent Management (DTM) by partnering with their HR Business Partners groups to provide relevant and timely insights related to talent management (high potential talent development, succession planning, representation and development ROI)
+ Provides full cycle management of VP searches, by reviewing talent lists to suggest possible internal talent. The Senior Manager works with HR Business Partners, Business Leaders and the Talent Acquisition team.
+ Supports the Manager, Pipeline Talent with the VP+ forecasting work to ensure accurate and up to date roles are identified and confidential updates are handled with sensitivity.
+ Monitors and analyzes leading trends and best practices on talent/leadership strategies and programs to identify improvement/enhancement opportunities
+ Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
+ Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

+ Post-secondary Degree or Diploma in Human Resources or Business or related field
+ Previous experience in a COE environment or talent management field
+ Ability to work under pressure and juggle competing priorities without compromising quality
+ Strong understanding of program design, development and implementation
+ Strong communication and PowerPoint skills
+ Demonstrated analytical and strategic thinking
+ Attentive to details and deadlines; ability to manage multiple priorities
+ Spanish language proficiency, while not required, is considered an asset
