Spiderwort is developing a platform of novel plant-derived biomaterials to address a number of tissue engineering applications including for patients with unmet medical needs. We are building an interdisciplinary team of experts who are passionate about bringing medical biomaterials to the clinic in order to dramatically impact human health and well-being. The successful candidate will work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team to meet important corporate objectives. For this position, Spiderwort is seeking a Business Development Associate to support the company’s operations and business development functions. This position presents an incredible opportunity for someone looking to build experience in an exciting, rapidly growing biomedical company. The position is full-time with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2021 Primary Responsibilities: ● Support operations planning ● Contribute to the financial modelling of the business ● Develop relationships with strategic partners and identify business opportunities ● Competitive Analysis and market research ● Develop proposals and presentations Essential Qualifications: ● 1 years industry experience in a comparable role ● Motivated, action oriented, self-starter able to develop and execute plans and strategies ● Undergraduate degree in Commerce, Engineering, Life Sciences or equivalent ● MBA preferred ● Mastery of core software applications including MS Office Suite ● Outstanding communication skills and comfort collaborating within a highly interdisciplinary team ● Ability to function in an environment requiring a high-level of adaptability and multitasking ● Experience in international business relations ● Fluency in English and French What we offer: ● An opportunity to positively change the lives of patients who presently have few to no medical treatment options, while working with some of the most passionate experts from different fields. ● Leadership and growth potential.
