TRREB is looking for a Market Data Researcher to fill a permanent, full-time role within the Market Analysis and Service Channels department. The successful candidate will report directly to the Chief Market Analyst and Director, Service Channels and will be responsible for the duties outlined below. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES The Market Data Researcher will be responsible for collecting, analyzing and interpreting data related to residential and commercial real estate and organizing this information into statistical tables and reports. Quantitative and qualitative research involving statistics, surveys, focus groups and consumer polling is required. SQL Server and existing business intelligence and reporting tools, including Microstrategy, Dundas BI, Tableau, Eviews and the ESRI GIS framework, are utilized for reporting purposes. The Market Data Researcher would also be encouraged to experiment with other tools, particularly open source frameworks like Python and R. This role requires a background in database querying and query design, business intelligence and/or data science. The incumbent will be working closely with the Information Services Department with regard to the continued development and maintenance of TRREB's data warehouse and business intelligence reporting system. HEALTH AND SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES The incumbent will follow safe work procedures, knowing and complying with all health and safety regulations. REQUIREMENTS Education: Bachelor’s degree related to database management, business intelligence and/or data science. Some real estate experience preferred. Experience: 2 - 3 years of experience in a market research role. Experience using relational databases, including designing SQL queries. Experience using business intelligence applications, including Microstrategy, Dundas BI, Tableau, etc. Experience with time series modelling and forecasting, including seasonal adjustment using Eviews, SAS, Python, R or similar applications would be an asset. Experience with Geographic Information System applications would be an asset. Experience building web applications to display data in a user-friendly format would be an asset. Good written and verbal communication skills. Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. SPECIAL WORKING CONDITIONS The incumbent is expected to complete projects under tight time constraints which may require after hours or weekend work.
