Our client is a Calgary based organization focused on the development of the energy distribution terminals in North America.


SUMMARY

Reporting to the VP Operations, the Technical Lead is responsible for supporting end-to-end marine fuel supply, from origin to customer, with a focus on safety & environment, operational excellence, logistics optimization & management, regulatory compliance, change management, and continual improvement processes.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Based out of the headquarters in Calgary, Alberta, the role is primarily office based, with travel required on an as-required basis to refineries/suppliers (Alberta/Saskatchewan/BC), and Prince Rupert, British Columbia.
  • Responsible for operations change management processes and systems, regulatory reporting & compliance (including Classification Society, PRPA, and Transport Canada), project management, and support of day-to-day and long-term goals of the operations, including rail & marine logistics and management.
  • Travel will be required to source/supply locations and Prince Rupert operations to engage with technical and operations personnel.
  • Engage with and support the Prince Rupert operations with a focus on safety, reliability, logistics coordination, and regulatory.
  • Engage and interact to foster the working relationship with the Port Authority and Federal regulatory agencies related to proper operation and compliance of the facility.
  • Periodically conduct operability and design audits and update terminal/marine operations and safety plans in conjunction with Operations leadership
  • May conduct customer tours as requested.

EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS

Diploma or Degree in a technical field (Engineering, or Technician) CIT, CET, RET, EIT, P.Eng.


EXPERIENCE

  • Preference for a minimum of 5 to 7 years’ experience in an operations environment
  • Project Management, including management of multi-disciplined teams
  • Working knowledge of Alberta & BC Safety Codes
  • Understanding of hydrocarbon process / mechanical systems
  • Regulatory reporting and compliance experience
  • Marine and/or rail operating experience an advantage

Remuneration for this position will consists of a base salary between $100-120K commensurate upon experience in addition to a bonus program and company benefits including RRSP matching.
