We are currently recruiting for an energetic and dynamic individual for our Operations Team reporting to the Traffic Manager. This role liaises between drivers, Members (moving companies), and operations. The purpose of this role is to plan, dispatch Van Line registered weight in a manner that maximizes utilization of resources, profitability, and customer satisfaction. In addition, this role supports the moving process from load to delivery.

The successful candidate is a customer centric individual, detailed oriented and motivated with exceptional communications skills. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities while responding to time sensitive requests efficiently.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Planning and dispatching of household goods moves in the most efficient manner while meeting on time delivery targets
  • Dispatching numerous drivers throughout North America
  • Ensuring compliance with hauling policies
  • Understand and communicate order financials and revenue distribution
  • Understand and communicate tariff rules and regulations
  • Strong understanding and adherence for proper documentation and procedures i.e., household goods custom docs, E-manifest, Government rules and regulations
  • Strong understanding and adherence for corporate policy
  • Participate in formal and informal discussion regarding solutions to any shipments that are in danger of being late
  • Constantly strive to improve Quality of Service and on-time deliveries
  • Control costs whenever possible, in particular goodwill expenditures
  • Plan, communicate and update dispatch programs
  • Respond to high volume emails and voicemails in a timely manner
  • Maintain communication between all parties ensuring everyone involved is aware of changing circumstances
  • Adeptly manage phone calls, deal with front line issues i.e., shuttles, labour, weather issues
  • Strong attention to order details with focus on customer satisfaction
  • Attend regular departmental meetings
  • Support in collecting pertinent information (move-related paperwork)
  • Assist in the training of all new staff and share best practices
  • Special projects, assignments and other duties as assigned
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Knowledge of North American geography, highway systems and comfort with mapping programs is a must
  • Proven ability to multi-task, problem-solve and prioritize activities
  • Organizational and time-management skills are a must
  • Clear and effective communications skills are imperative
  • Comfortable with managing a high volume of phone calls and emails
  • Attention to detail a must
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Team oriented individual who can work with others on shared responsibilities
  • Proven record of taking ownership for job responsibilities
  • Confidentiality is imperative and required
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Windows based applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and BorderConnect
  • Extended moving industry/Van Line knowledge and experience is an asset
  • Good command of the English language and grammar
