The Process Equipment Engineer is responsible use their industry experience to sustain and improve the assembly processes and automated equipment of manufacturing lines. This is a hands-on position involving troubleshooting automated equipment, validation (transfer to production) and be able to interface well with other engineers, scientists and operations personnel to collaborate in cross-functional team
This position is part of the Process Engineering department and will be located in Newark, CA. The team is committed to enabling access to molecular diagnostic testing everywhere.
*In this role, you will have the opportunity to:*

* Provide technical assistance and engineering support to the manufacturing floor in minimizing production downtime and ensuring quality products in a fast pace and high volume 24/7 manufacturing environment.
* Assist with failure investigations and root cause analyses pertaining to equipment performance as well as Perform re-validation of existing equipment, tooling and processes associated to manufacturing equipment.
* Generate documentation including Operating Procedures, Engineering Studies and reports.
* Partner with cross functional teams to evaluate design and processes related to manufacturing equipment improvement
* Write Verification/Validation protocols (I/OQ, PQ) and related technical reports to support the transfer of equipment into Production.
*The essential requirements of the job include:*

* Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of relevant work experience OR Master’s degree with 1+ years of relevant work experience

* Hands on experience with high volume automated manufacturing equipment. Mechanical and electro-mechanical troubleshooting skills of automated manufacturing equipment
* Experience with lean manufacturing (5S, MUDA, Kaizen, Visual Management, Daily management)
* Experience with DOE, root cause analysis, process engineering, failure investigations and automated assembly equipment. Experience in process development, acceptance testing and qualification of equipment.
* Experience with creating BOMs, product specifications, and engineering drawings interpretation (GD&T). Experience with MiniTab, JMP is a plus. Proficiency with Solidworks and Microsoft Office applications.
