We are currently searching for a Production Supervisor to join our manufacturing team in London, Ontario. As a key member of the leadership team our idea candidate will enjoy a fast paced work environment and be passionate about meeting performance and safety standards, Reporting to the Production Manager you take pride in ensuring production remains a smooth and efficient process by monitoring employees and organizing workflows.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the department’s optimal use of materials, machinery and labour efficiently
  • Accountable for company KPI’s; Health and Safety, Quality, Waste Rate and Run Rates
  • Meet performance standards related to Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR)
  • Provide a safe work environment for employees working with the H&S team to identify hazards and prevent incidents
  • Ensure safety is communicated throughout the production process
  • Ensure quality output is achieved via adherence to specifications, reducing the number of customer complaints
  • Build and maintain a positive work environment
  • Help gather information to continuously improve preventative maintenance schedules on industrial equipment.
  • Manage production disposal costs due to preventable production errors to meet and exceed waste reduction targets
  • Actively seek opportunities to improve processes and create sustainable success and longevity
  • Assist Production Manager with special projects as needed


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • GED equivalent, Mechanical Engineer diploma would be an asset
  • 3 - 5 years of supervisory experience in a unionized manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge on KPI’s, Health and Safety, Quality, HACCP, Waste Rate and Run Rates
  • Intimate knowledge in Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR)
  • Excellent leadership, change management, organization and problem solving skills
  • Experience working with SAP or similar systems
  • Sound judgment, independent, excellent conflict resolutions skills, diplomacy and tact
  • Ability to work according to tight schedules/timelines
  • Strong written/verbal skills to communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work any shift
