Powell Foundations Inc. (PFI) , a member of the Powell Group of Companies, strives to provide clients with all their foundation needs. We specialize in the construction of temporary excavation protection, pile driving, deep caisson shafts, sheet pile cofferdams, noise barriers and overhead sign footings. We are looking to add a Payroll Administrator to help support our accounting team. The Payroll Administrator will be working in a fast paced and tight scheduled work environment and is responsible for processing a weekly Canadian Multi–Company payroll comprising of salary, hourly, and union employees. Responsibilities : Perform payroll department operations within a timely matter for multiple companies (union and non-union) including processing weekly payroll, retroactive payments, taxable benefits, garnishments, and ensuring compliance with company procedures and legislation Perform all year-end payroll tasks including T4 processing and CPP and EI reconciliations Issuing Resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information and Responsible for communicating with the unions to understand monthly filing discrepancies and rate updates. Prepare and report source deductions, WSIB, EHT, union dues, group benefit remittances and RRSP contributions. Ensure the integrity and accuracy of all payroll remittances and reports Maintain filing of documents, employee files and issue ROE’s as required. Prepare annual working papers for the annual external audit of payroll. Assist manager with special projects Perform other accounting and administrative duties as may be requested Qualifications : PCP Certification or College Accounting Diploma equivalent A minimum of 3 years of full-cycle payroll experience in a fast-paced computerized environment Previous payroll experience within a construction environment, processing payroll for union, hourly and salaried staff Working knowledge of current payroll legislation & strong understanding of union agreements and CBA requirements Ability to calculate union and government remittances Experience using ADP and Jonas Accounting Software is an asset Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word and Outlook) Excellent communication skills and a strong attention to detail Must be organized, demonstrate ability to work under pressure and flexible to changing business conditions Must demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality, be self-motivated and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment Powell Group of Companies is committed to meeting the accessibility needs of persons with disabilities in an effective and timely manner in accordance with the applicable standards set out in the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA), the provisions of the Ontario Human Rights Code, and any other applicable legislation.
