About the role Our local client has a current requirement for a Senior Data Architect to perform the following duties The incumbent provides advice and guidance on data architecture best practices for technology products and focuses on leading the efforts in IT product lifecycle management, including creating, implementing, maintaining and decommissioning corporate products. The incumbent is responsible for providing the services required to design, develop, maintain, support, govern and evolve the data architecture program, leading the analysis, design and development of architectures as well as the development of strategic roadmaps and patterns. The incumbent is also responsible for providing expert advice to colleagues in Information Technology Services (ITS) as part of the development, implementation and evaluation of new and existing data architectures, as well as the research and evaluation of new technologies and standards. The incumbent will use industry best practices to provide input to the Manager in the formation of technical strategy for data as it refers to platforms, applications, cloud-based and back-end infrastructure as well as providing 3rd level End User support where required. The Data Architect will be a key resource for high-level enterprise data models and initiate and participate in projects to evaluate technologies and recommend methods for implementing these plans. This position will focus on Enterprise Business Platforms, which includes but is not limited to Data Warehousing, Cognos, Power BI, Informatica, Collibra, SalesForce, Student Information Systems, Cloud solutions data strategy and an integrated Automated Programming Interfaces (API) framework employed through all compatible systems. The qualifications Language English Four (4) Year Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field; Microsoft Certified Professional; Collibra Certified Expert Level 3; SCRUM Certified ScrumMaster ; Minimum eight (8) years of architecture experience including framework and methodology development; Must have Experience with other development platforms, preferably .net, C++; Must have experience with real-time integration; experience with integration of COTS solutions via API or Web-Services; Must have understanding of best practices and design trade-offs, with the ability to communicate design choices; Must have experience in managing and introducing a wide range of enterprise applications and technologies; Must have experience in analyzing partner business requirements; Must have experience in proposing technology solutions meeting partner and IT stakeholders requirements; Experience in producing strategic roadmaps an asset; Must have experience in product lifecycle management; including introducing, maintaining and decommissioning IT products; Participation in knowledge sharing and mentorship; Must have proven success with projects involving the skills and technologies above, with a portfolio of references to speak for the work; Must have knowledge of internet and cloud architecture paradigms.
