We are the core team responsible for building the Virtual Enforcement Node (VEN), the agent software that runs on customer hardware and virtual machines. We are a passionate, high-functioning team that empowers engineers to create high quality portable code running on a variety of operating systems. You will be writing multithreaded C/C++ networking and security applications to feed into our Policy Compute Engine (PCE). You will have the opportunity to design critical features and subsystems, work out all of the details, defend the design before your peers, and deliver high quality tested code. You will also mentor junior engineers, new-grads, and interns to help them grow as engineers and become productive members of the team. You will be using the latest technology and C++ standards. You will be working with Docker, Kubernetes/Openshift, and a myriad of cloud platforms. What You Will Accomplish: Create high quality code that runs on multiple operating systems Use latest technologies and C++ standard. Strong cross functional team skills. Be willing to teach and to learn and become a productive member of the team. What You Will Bring: Expertise in programming in C++ (C++11/14/17/20). Experience in delivering reliable portable application software on multiple operating systems. Strong knowledge of networking programing using POSIX APIs. Experience with developing/using RESTful APIs. Experience developing multi-threaded applications. Strong debugging skills utilizing built in OS tools like valgrind, Windbg, etc. Strong understanding of fundamental data structures & algorithms, Familiarity with writing unit tests in a test harnesses such as GoogleTest, CPPTest, etc. Write scripts in one or more of the following - bash, powershell, Bourne shell. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication skills MS/BS in STEM or equivalent with 5 years of relevant work experience Bonus Points: Experience with firewalling technologies such as iptables, nftables, WFP or packet filter. Familiarity with AIX, Solaris.
